CELEBRATE

One of our passions is to design and offer custom products in which program participants not only get to co-create, but also play an active role in contributing to sustainable change via a possible revenue stream. The arts-infused, edutaining program brings participants and beneficiaries together, helps nurture empathy, and builds a sense of community, locally and globally.  From purpose-driven edutaining games, books, puzzles, and objects of utilitarian arts and design, we appreciate eco-friendly and  creative products. We’d love to hear from you if you design earth friendly educational products!

Celebrating Creativity in Making a Positive Difference:  A Youth-Led Initiative

The ‘Creative Volunteerism for Social Change and Development’ Project, or CreativeChange, launched in 2004, aims to raise awareness about volunteerism, societal responsibility, and the role of the creative sector in social change and global development.

As part of this project, we conducted an online study to understand current efforts, challenges, and best practices from around the globe. Responses from over 25 countries were gathered, and the findings were detailed in the CreativeChange Publication, highlighting individuals and organizations catalyzing arts and creativity in development.

In addition to our study, we partnered with one of the largest online youth communities, TakingItGlobal, and the UN Millennium Campaign to co-facilitate the ‘Vision 2015: Your Future’ Youth Arts Contest. Young artists were encouraged to express their hopes, fears, challenges, goals, and dreams through their artwork.

Artworks from the contest have been showcased in online digital exhibitions and a traveling exhibition visiting venues from the US to Nigeria. The exhibition features photographs, paintings, mixed-media, digital art, multimedia video, sound, and texts including poetry and short essays. The traveling exhibition includes 50 artworks by youth from around the world, with a sound project that presents ‘sounds of life’ to inspire visitors to think, feel, and take action for positive change.

The CreativeChange exhibitions have also hosted interactive workshops and a learning series with experts, discussing development challenges and ideating solutions from an arts-infused perspective.
