When the seas see
What’s lost, what’s remaining,
There comes a sigh beneath the burning sun,
The currents come undone, seasons arriving sooner than the last.
Their azure depths now scarred by millions of seen and unseen residue,
The water rises, swallowing the precious,
And those that seem so shallow in the face of crisis.

When the seas see
What’s lost, what’s remaining,
There comes a thundering swell under the shimmering moon,
The waves bring it all back… banishing the unwanted and recovering the treasured lost.
The tides recede with a world within a world foreign to many  pure life.

This is a call to mend the earth’s encroaching gloom
And find a way to secure our future—
One well,  one creek,  one lake,  one shoreline, one coral at a time.

Join our hands and hearts as we weave a tapestry of hope and change,
Reviving waters in a world reclaimed.

Reviving Waters by Arts for Global Development, Inc.

Project H2O: Stories of Water is a collection of artworks by young, emerging, and professional artists from around the world who have collaborated with Arts for Global Development, Inc. over the years. These artists share their stories of water—the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly.

From the spiritual and traditional uses of water in India to the scarcity of clean drinking water in Afghanistan, from the crises in Bolivia to the healing powers of water in Vietnam,  these visual stories span local to global contexts. The artworks reflect each artist’s unique perception, interpretation, emotions, and experiences related to water, capturing its past, present, and future states.

The exhibition explores various themes connected to water, including its economic value, its role in shaping cultural heritage, its impact on gender and identity, its significance for biodiversity, and beyond. It highlights the critical state of our water sources and emphasizes the importance of collective efforts to clean and preserve these essential resources.

The Project H2O ‘offline’ exhibition features select pieces in a multimedia tapestry format, weaving these stories together. This format not only showcases individual local and regional perspectives but also aims to present a unified global visual narrative addressing various aspects of Earth’s water resources. The tapestry composition in the offline exhibition represents the interconnected reality of human and planetary life nurtured and impacted by water. The textured elements contrast our increasingly concretized environment with the natural world.

Let’s create meaningful change together!
